UK – Matt Roberts, formerly vice-president of business intelligence at Formula E, has left the business to launch a sports insight consultancy in partnership with Potentia Insight.

Potentia Sports, a consultancy arm of Potentia, will respond to a demand for analytical expertise within the sports sector.

The consultancy aims to help organisations make the most of their data and address key commercial and operational challenges.

Prior to joining Formula E four years ago, Roberts (pictured) was global insight and analytics director at Formula One (F1 ), where he established the organisation’s insight function.

SuzyHassan, managing director and co-founder at Potentia Insight, said: “We are excited to launch Potentia Sports and to work closely with Matt Roberts in this new venture. Working together will mean we are well-positioned to help our clients navigate the dynamic sports landscape and achieve their strategic objectives for both agencies and sports clients.”

Writing in a post on LinkedIn, Roberts said: “With more than 23 years in the industry, I want to be able to offer my experience to sports organisations from a data and insight point of view.”

The consultancy arm has launched with Aston Martin F1 as a client. Roberts will be working as a business consultant in the research and insight team for the racing team.
